Replica Runner in painted gold

These Replica runners are iconic to Maison Margiela going back to 1999. They have been in the collection ever since. Dating back from the '70, the original vintage ones were cleaned, painted and numbered by Margiela in the first period. Afterwards new ones were produced in different leathers and qualities, as Margiela has done with many other creations, using traditional techniques and craftsmanship, reinventing them.

This season the painted golden one is a new addition, it is clearly painted on top of a natural coloured leather, crackly and looking vintage already while it is brand new. The gold is a warm one, towards a bronze, not too shiny.

We have other colour versions too: the classic dirty white ones, a coffee with milk beige version and one in all suede in black. Plus a new one for the season only, an earthy orange. 

They are lightweight but very solid, also they keep an elegant line to them with the oval shaped toe. You can wear them all year round, season after season.

The sole is in a supple rubber, the upper is full leather, to be worn with or without laces.
